Sonya is an orphan, abandoned by her parents. She was born with a serious illness and cannot walk. But a kind woman Natasha took her from the shelter and began to do everything for the girl to get on her feet. One day Sonya said that she really wants to see the Old Believer female hermit Agafya Lykova. There was no way to take the child through the taiga, a road that a healthy adult could barely tread. But such was the beginning of our story of love, faith and humanity.

Director’s statement
There are films that people make. And there are films that make people. This movie is rather a kind of inner experience, inner creation, which gave rise to an incredible tension in the soul, bordering on despair. But the tests passed, and a light appeared, distant, like Mount Tabor, inaccessible. And all the work on the film is the yearning for this light, an attempt to reach it. For “Love is stronger than death, and nothing can overcome it”.
