Almandar has lived a long life and has even had Death himself to come for him. Fortunately, due to the Death’s silly mistake he was left alive. When the mistake is made known the agent of Death heads back to take Almandar’s soul and finish the job he started many years ago. However, a simple and boundless love for life, the will to live and enjoy every day performed by an old, happy, funny and brave Almandar make him the master of the moment. Even Death himself decides not to take Almandar.

Director’s statement
The animated film Almandar by the Tatarmultfilm Studios was based on the play of the same name by the great Tatar playwright Tufan Minnullin. It was included in the golden fund of national drama and theatrical art.
Our idea was to give new life to the brightest and most beloved work of Tatar theatrical art in a new animated form. The work touches on the eternal issues of life and death.
ABOUT THE FILM DIRECTOR:
Sergey Kiatrov was born on 16.08.1971. In 1988 graduated from the Kazan School of Decorative and Applied Arts. Since 2010 he was a chief director of the association "Tatarmultfilm". Sergei Kiatrov is a member of Animated film association and a Russian filmmaking union.
