Director’s statement
The more I go from home, the more I want to make films about my homeland, about the people I know and love. In the work on the film KIPVN I fully realized this need. So, the plot was based on the story that happened to my mother, a school teacher, who was forced to inform the population about vaccination during the pandemic. Actually, the mother became the prototype of the main character of the film. Filming took place in my quaint little hometown of Buinsk in the Republic of Tatarstan, where a large interregional team of young filmmakers came on an expedition. Shooting "at home" demanded from me the utmost frankness and reverent attitude to the material. It is important to note that 2023 has been declared as the ‘Year of the Teacher and Mentor’ in Russia. Our film raises the problem of the vulnerable and dependent position of the teacher in the modern world. Today it is extremely important to talk about this and advocate for the release of teachers from excessive workload so that they have the opportunity to fulfill their main professional mission - educating the younger generation.
My graduation film was titled Brief Instructions for Popular Vaccination (VKSR), brought to life with the support of Rosmolodezh.Grants.
ABOUT THE FILM DIRECTOR:
Oksana Sinchugova was born on 08.03.1994 in Buinsk, Republic of Tatarstan. In 2019 graduated from the Kazan State Institute of Culture as a non-fiction film director (workshop of Alexey Barykin), in 2021 - The Higher Courses of Scriptwriters and Film directors named after G.Daneliya as a feature film director (workshop of Vladimir Khotinenko, Vladimir Fenchenko, Pavel Finn). Currently studying at the magistracy at the Russian State University of Cinematography named after S. Gerasimov as a screenwriter (workshop of Yuri Arabov, Tatiana Dubrovina).
