This is a story of three great actresses claiming centre stage in a play; each one had an affair with the art director. The backstage atmosphere highlights the roles that were played on stage and in life, and the ones to blame… Life is a play, only without rehearsals. Previously rival divas have yet to face the challenges of new reality. Iconic actresses of the glorious past are about to meet the modern theatre, which is «not for everyone»... Who will win: loyalty to the old theatre or scandalous theatre, created by an amateur director having a public official for a father on his side?

Director’s statement
This is my personal tribute to the theater, to those great actors who saw the theatre as the entirety of their life. These people lived in the theater, they served the theater, they sacrificed their personal lives for the theater. In a way, this is my manifesto, my devotion to the great Russian theater, which has to give way to the younger generation: modern, symbolic and outrageous.
