The documentary Carriers is a joint journalistic project of the Samizdat My friend, you’re a transformer and Citymobil. This is a story of five taxi drivers from five Russian cities: Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Kazan, Perm and Moscow. Our heroes are a Russian rapper, a former thief who has become an exemplary family man, a soldier of two armies, who worked as a security guard of the Israeli mayor, a faithful waiting wife of a convict, and a search activist, who jogs every morning in a gas mask. For centuries Russia has been exporting fur, timber, gas and the mystery of the Russian soul, but in what units can this mystery be measured? We tried to measure it in kilometers. The average taxi driver drives a million kilometers in eight years. It's like to the moon and back, and then once again – back to the endless road.
