In her film "Tsvetaeva.Open", the director responds to accusations hurled at Marina Tsvetaeva. After the discovery of the poet's archives in 2000 for the death of her youngest daughter Irina, a stream of insults was rained down on Tsvetaeva. Director’s statement
It is impossible to explain to everyone sputtering with anger online what that tragic time was and what the true motives of Marina Tsvetaeva's actions were. I have no illusions that anyone can be persuaded of anything. I only want to give a chance for another alternative point of view to an inquisitive mind that will doubt all that stream of insults. Tsvetaeva has no heirs left: all of them are either dead or already dead. There is no one to defend her name. You could say I made this film not because I wanted to, but because I couldn't not do it.
